Back underground, first cave in a couple of months and first SRT in 3 months. Still injured but out of boot day to day. I went with my protective NHS boot. Went down the pitch, after rigging the easy way for Byron. We went upstream to Swinsto/Simpsons waterfall. I suggested the round trip, but Byron did not want to go down the climb for some reason, barely 2m drop.
We went upstream as far as the chest deep bit before heading out. Byron needs to stick close to the rope. For me, my foot felt fine even when prussicking and I got up there quickly. I don't know how long the NHS boot will last but I hope it's not too long before I don't need it for caving anymore.
